How to navigate your Member Dashboard

A page-by-page tour of the Goodcover Member Dashboard: where to find your policy documents, bills, and payment method, and which button to use for each policy change.

Updated September 3, 2026 · 7 min read

Your Member Dashboard is where you view your policy, download documents, see and pay bills, and make changes to your coverage or account. This guide walks through each page and names the exact button for each task.

  1. Go to the Goodcover login page.
  2. Sign in with the email address on your Goodcover account. If you have forgotten your password, see How to change or reset your Goodcover password.
  3. You land on Overview.

The layout

  • Left sidebar has four sections: Overview, Billing, Claims, and Account. On a phone or a narrow window the sidebar is hidden; tap the panel icon at the top left to open it.
  • Top right has a Live chat button and your name. Selecting your name opens a short menu: Billing, Settings (the Account page), and Log out.
  • Most inner pages have a Back to Dashboard, Back to Policy, or Back to Billing link at the top left.

Overview

Overview is the home page. It has three cards:

  • Your Policies. One card per policy showing the policy number, insured address, status badge (for example Active), monthly premium, Personal Property limit, and the amount and date of your next bill. Select View policy to open the policy page.
  • Upcoming Bills. Your next bill for each policy. Select Details to expand the line items, or View all to go to Billing.
  • Payment Method. The card or bank account on file, shown as the last four digits and expiration. Select Update to change it.

The policy page

Open a policy from Overview with View policy. The page shows, from top to bottom:

  • Header. The policy number, insured address, a Download PDF button for your current policy documents, and the status badge.
  • Policy Period. Start date, end date, and term number.
  • Coverage. Personal Property (C), Loss of Use (D), Liability (E), Medical Payments (F), your Deductible, and whether Water Backup is included.
  • Premium. Monthly and annual amounts.
  • People. The primary insured with the email, phone, and birthday on file.
  • Policy Actions. The list of changes you can make. Each is described below.
  • Recent Billing. The latest bill for this policy, with Details and a View all billing for this policy link.

Policy Actions, one by one

Each action is a row under Policy Actions. Select the row to open it.

View History lists every saved version of the policy with its date, a PDF link, and the address and coverage that were in effect. Use it when you need documents from before a change.

Claims shows any claims filed on this policy and a File a Claim button that takes you to the Claims section.

Update Coverage opens a page with a minus and plus button beside each coverage: Personal Property (C), Liability (E), Medical Payments (F), Deductible, and Water Backup. Select More info next to any of them for a description. Some buttons are greyed out when that amount cannot be changed on your policy. Below that, Item Coverage has switches to add upgraded coverage for Jewelry & Watches, Cameras, and Musical Instruments. The selection of Item Coverages can vary based on your State of residence. When you are done, select Preview changes to see the new price before anything is saved. See How to adjust your coverage or add special items.

Add Additional Interest is where you add a landlord or property manager. Enter their Name, and optionally an Email and Mailing address, then select Add interest. An interested party receives proof of insurance and policy status notices but cannot change your policy. See How do I add or edit my landlord as an interested party?

Add Named Insured adds a person to your policy, such as a spouse, partner or roommate. Enter their First name and Last name, use Add another insured if you need more than one, then select Save. See How to add or edit a spouse or partner on your policy.

Renew Policy shows your renewal options once your term is close to ending. The row tells you the date options become available. Before that date the page says no renewal is available yet.

I'm Moving starts a new policy at your new address based on your current coverage. Pick a New policy start date, type your New address and choose it from the suggestions, then select Continue to quote. Renters policies are not transferable between addresses, so your current policy is scheduled to end when the new one begins. See How to change your home address.

Correct Address fixes a typo in the insured address. Do not use it if you have moved. Select Edit address to correct the street address, add an Apt, suite, unit if needed, then select Preview changes.

Cancel Policy gives you two choices:

  1. Cancel Immediately. You can leave an optional reason and a 1 to 10 rating, then select Continue. The next screen is a Cancellation estimate showing any refund or amount due, including a note if your policy has a minimum earned premium. Select Confirm cancellation to finish. This cannot be undone.
  2. Schedule Future Cancellation. Select Pick a date and choose any date up to the end of your current term, add an optional reason, then select Schedule Cancellation. Your coverage stays active until that date, and you can change your mind before then.

To request a cancellation effective on a past date, see How do I request a backdated policy cancellation? For a full walkthrough see How to cancel your policy.

Billing

Select Billing in the sidebar. The page has three parts:

  • Payment Method. The card or bank account on file. Select Update to open Update Payment Method, choose Card or US bank account, enter the details, and select Update payment method. See How to Update Your Payment Method.
  • Upcoming. Bills that have not been charged yet, with the date, policy number, billing plan, and amount. Select Details to expand.
  • History. Bills that have been charged. Select Details to see the premium, any installment fee, credits applied, the payment method used, and the total.

Claims

Select Claims in the sidebar. The page lists each of your policies with its claims partner and how to reach them: a File a claim online link, a claims email address, and the claims phone line. Have your policy number ready. Once a claim is filed you can see its status under Claims on your policy page.

Coverage decisions on a claim are made by a licensed adjuster during the claims process, not by the dashboard.

Account

Select Account in the sidebar, or select your name at the top right and choose Settings. Each row has its own Edit button:

  • Name. Select Edit name to submit a correction or legal name change. Policies cannot be transferred to another person, so changes are reviewed and may take a few days.
  • Email. Select Edit email, enter the new address, and select Update email. A Not confirmed badge means the address has not been verified yet.
  • Phone. Select Edit phone, enter the new number, and select Update phone.
  • Birthday. Shown for reference and cannot be edited online.
  • Password. Select Edit password, enter your current password and the new one twice, then select Change password.
  • Support PIN. Select Edit support pin to set a 4 to 8 digit code you can give the support team on the phone to verify your identity. Use Save PIN or Remove PIN.
  • Email preferences. Opens a page with three switches: All offers, Relevant goods & services, and Landlord quote follow-ups. Policy and billing notices are not optional and are not listed here.

Frequently asked questions

Where do I find my policy number?

It is the bold code at the top of each policy card on Overview (for example, a code starting with N or K), and again as the page heading when you open the policy.

Where do I download my policy documents or declarations page?

Open the policy from Overview by selecting View policy, then select Download PDF at the top right of the policy page. For an earlier version of the policy, select View History under Policy Actions and use the PDF link next to the version you need.

How do I see what a bill includes?

On Overview or Billing, select Details on the bill. It expands to show the premium, any installment fee, credits applied, the payment method charged, and the total.

Which button do I use if I moved?

On your policy page, under Policy Actions, select I'm Moving. Renters policies are tied to an address, so this starts a new policy at the new address. Use Correct Address only to fix a typo in the current address.

Can I cancel on a future date from the dashboard?

Yes. On your policy page select Cancel Policy, then Schedule Future Cancellation, pick a date up to the end of your current term, and select Schedule Cancellation. Coverage stays active until that date and you can change your mind before it arrives.

Where do I change my name, email, phone, or password?

Select Account in the left sidebar. Each field has its own Edit button. Name changes are for corrections and legal name changes only and are reviewed before they take effect.

What is the Support PIN?

A 4 to 8 digit code you set under Account. You can give it to the Goodcover support team on the phone to verify your identity. Goodcover stores it hashed and cannot read it back to you.

Easy insurance, zero hassle.
