You can add or update a landlord, property manager, property company, or other interested party from your Goodcover Member Dashboard.

An interested party receives information about the status of your renters insurance but cannot make changes to your policy.

Add or edit an interested party

  1. Sign in to the Landlord section of your Member Dashboard using the email address associated with your Goodcover account.
  2. Select Edit policy.
  3. Scroll down and choose Add or edit your Landlord.
  4. Enter or update the requested landlord, property, or interested-party information.
  5. Review the information carefully and follow the prompts to save the change.

Use the exact landlord or property management company name shown in your lease or their instructions when possible.

Choosing email or paper delivery

Include the interested party's email address when you want Goodcover to send proof of coverage electronically. Email is the fastest delivery method.

If the landlord requires proof by physical mail or at a PO box, enter the requested mailing address. Paper delivery can take longer.

What an interested party can see

After the landlord or property manager is listed as an interested party, Goodcover can notify them:

  • That your renters insurance policy is active
  • Of your personal liability coverage limits
  • If the policy lapses
  • If the policy is canceled

These notices help the interested party verify that you continue to meet applicable insurance requirements in your lease.

What an interested party cannot do

An interested party cannot:

  • Change your coverage
  • Change your policy information
  • Cancel your policy
  • Control your Goodcover account

Listing a landlord as an interested party is different from naming them as an insured. The interested-party role is for verification and policy-status notices.

If the information changes

Return to the Landlord section of the Member Dashboard whenever you need to correct the information or replace a former landlord or property manager.

Check the saved details after making a change, especially the spelling of the name and the email or mailing address used for proof of coverage.

Frequently asked questions

Where do I add or edit my landlord’s information?

From the Member Dashboard, select Edit policy, scroll down, and choose Add or edit your Landlord.

What information should I have ready?

Have the landlord or property management company’s correct name and preferred delivery details available. Provide an email address for electronic proof of insurance, or a physical address if paper delivery is required.

Can my landlord change my Goodcover policy?

No. Listing a landlord or property manager as an interested party allows them to receive policy-status information, but it does not give them authority to change your policy.

What information will an interested party receive?

The interested party can be notified that the policy is active and can see the liability coverage limits. Goodcover also notifies them if the policy lapses or is canceled.

Is an interested party the same as a named insured?

No. Your landlord or property manager should be listed as an interested party for verification and notices. That status does not make them a named insured or allow them to control your policy.

Easy insurance, zero hassle.
